Itinerary
3:30 AM — Depart Nairobi
Early departure via Thika Road. Participants should arrive before 3:15 AM so the convoy can leave on time.
5:30 AM — Equator Stop, Nanyuki
Brief stop for photographs, stretching and refreshments.
8:15–9:15 AM — Cedar Mall, Nanyuki
Last major shopping stop before heading into Northern Kenya. Stock up on water, snacks, personal supplies and anything needed for the next few days.
11:10 AM — Samburu Stopover
Approximately one hour for stretching, refreshments and the planned campaign/road-trip activation.
Continue north towards Marsabit
Travel through the northern landscape with a photography stop overlooking Mount Ololokwe, followed by the journey through Laisamis.
Marsabit National Park
Enter through Ajmarko Gate and explore the park, including the spectacular crater-lake landscape, subject to road and park conditions.
Exit through Ahmed Gate and continue to Marsabit town.

The road gradually changes from tarmac to dusty tracks as the convoy heads towards the Chalbi region.

Spend time exploring the white salt flats and vast desert landscape.
This is one of the major highlights of the journey, with opportunities for:

Midday — Arrive North Horr
Lunch at the homestays followed by check-in, freshening up and some rest.
5:00 PM — North Horr Sand Dunes
Head to the dunes for the afternoon/evening experience.

Evening — Dinner & Bonfire
Relax around the bonfire and enjoy the exceptionally clear Northern Kenya night sky.

For those interested, an early morning return to the dunes for sunrise.

Continue towards Lake Turkana through the rugged northern landscape.
As the road approaches Loiyangalani, the landscape dramatically changes and the Jade Sea — Lake Turkana — comes into view.
Lake Turkana Boat Experience
Take a boat ride on Lake Turkana, with boats operating in groups of up to approximately eight people.
Experience the lake and learn more about the local El Molo community and its cultural heritage, subject to local arrangements and conditions.
Midday — Check-in & Lunch
Lunch at Palm Shade Hotel.
3:30 PM — Accommodation Check-in
The group may be split between two accommodation properties depending on capacity, while meals remain together.

Return to the lakeside for:

Continue towards Ngurunit and explore the dramatic landscapes around the area.
Natural Sliding Rocks
Stop for the natural rock formations/sliding rocks, subject to water levels, weather and ground conditions.
Lunch — En route
A quick lunch stop to maintain the day’s schedule.
Continue towards Laisamis
Reconnect with the main tarmac road at Laisamis before continuing through:
Laisamis → Archers Post → Isiolo
Evening — Sala Hotel, Isiolo
Check in, dinner and relaxation.
This is the only night where the entire group stays under one roof.
