The bird life will bring a smile to the most hardened ornithologist. You will lunch at the Samburu Sopa Lodge and then drift off on an afternoon game drive. Dine and overnight at the Samburu Sopa lodge.

Day 3: Samburu Full Day
Full day in Samburu with morning and afternoon game drives. You may see Elephant, Cheetah, Leopard, Eland, Oryx, Impala, Dikdik, Waterbuck and a variety of birds. This lava plain includes a varied landscape of red dirt, thorn scrub, broken volcanic rock, dried riverbeds, steep hills and rocky outcroppings. Following the river’s curves, a forest of Doum Palms, Acacia and Tamarind is a magical contrast of cool green. Other areas of the Reserve include the Uaso Nyiro River where crocodiles sun bath themselves on the banks. It also provides an oasis for a variety of game. Birds are abundant, with 365 species recorded, one for every day of the year. In between the game drives, there is an opportunity to visit a Samburu village at an additional cost.
Overnight: Samburu Sopa Lodge / Similar (Full board).
Day 4: Samburu – Lake Nakuru
After a great Samburu Sopa Lodge, breakfast then you head south to Lake Nakuru. This alkaline lake is famous for once having been the home to millions of Flamingo – so many that the lake was nicknamed the Pink Lake. You will arrive at the Lake Nakuru Lodge, where you will overnight, in time for lunch. Whilst the bird life is stunning (over 400 species) you could also see water buck, leopards impala, buffalo, black and white rhino and the, also endangered, Rothschild’s giraffe. The afternoon game drive could well deliver all of this.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara
After breakfast, it is off to the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve with its vast herds of game, particularly zebra and wildebeest. This reserve has the most diverse range of game out of all of the East African reserves.
The Maasai Mara is Kenya’s finest and most outstanding wildlife sanctuary where gentle rolling grassland ensures animals are never out of sight. The climate is gentle, rarely too hot and well spread rainfall year round. The wildlife is far from being confined within the Reserve boundaries and an even larger area extends beyond the game Reserve. Centuries of close association with the wildlife has resulted in an almost symbiotic relationship where wildlife and Maasai people live in peace with one another.
After lunch, explore the Reserve on a late evening game drive. No matter how much you have thought about Africa, this is more than you expected—the big five-Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino and Cape buffalo are in abundance.
Overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge(Full Board).

Day 6: Masai Mara Full Day
Today we will be spending in the vast eco-system of the Mara searching for the big five and much more. You also have an optional balloon safari at an additional cost — Many call it a once in a lifetime experience, once you are up, you won’t want to come down, and once you land, champagne breakfast awaits you. Game viewing is great from the air with the opportunity for beautiful pictures. It’s worth noting that every game drive is different from the other, and missing one is missing out on the fun.
Two game drives and an optional visit to a Maasai village complete your day at Maasai Mara.
During our stay we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Masai people at an additional cost to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience.
Day 7-8: Amboseli
We leave Masaai Mara after breakfast and head to Amboseli via Nairobi for lunch. The Amboseli national park is at the foothills of Africa’s highest mountain – the snow-capped Kilimanjaro – and is renowned for its many ecosystems and thus provides a wide variety of fauna and flora which you will first see on your late afternoon game drive. You spend the next two nights at Amboseli Sopa Lodge. Day 8 will be a full day of game drives through the spectacular park. Make sure that your camera batteries are charged as photo opportunities abound.
